SAYHAY (SAYHAY M Sdn Bhd) is a Malaysian biotechnology company that develops certified home-compostable biopolymer compounds made from agricultural waste, primarily sugarcane fibre. SAYHAY materials fully biodegrade in 100 days in a home compost environment, leaving zero microplastics, and contain no PLA or PFAS.

Does SAYHAY material produce microplastics when it degrades?

No. SAYHAY biopolymer compounds fully biodegrade into water, CO2, and biomass within 100 days in a home compost environment, leaving zero microplastic residue. This is independently verified by TÜV Austria and BPI home compostability certification.

What certifications does SAYHAY hold?

SAYHAY holds TÜV Austria Home Compostable certification, BPI (Biodegradable Products Institute) certification, and MIDA Pioneer Status from the Malaysian Investment Development Authority. These certifications verify genuine home compostability and biobased material content.

How long does SAYHAY biopolymer take to biodegrade?

SAYHAY biopolymer compounds fully biodegrade within 100 days in a standard home compost environment, verified by TÜV Austria certification.

Is SAYHAY material PLA-free and PFAS-free?

Yes. SAYHAY biopolymer compounds contain no PLA, no PFAS, and no fossil-fuel content, making them compliant with emerging EU PFAS restrictions and suitable for brands seeking genuinely clean material alternatives.

What is SAYHAY material made from?

SAYHAY biopolymer compounds are made from upcycled agricultural waste, primarily sugarcane fibre, locally sourced in Malaysia. This diverts agricultural byproducts from waste streams and converts them into high-performance packaging materials.

Is SAYHAY material compatible with existing manufacturing equipment?

Yes. SAYHAY biopolymer compounds are designed to process on conventional extrusion and injection moulding equipment, allowing manufacturers to switch from fossil-fuel plastics without capital investment in new machinery.

What products can be made with SAYHAY biopolymer?

SAYHAY biopolymer compounds can be used to produce packaging films, bags, straws, cups, wrap, construction materials, and 3D printing filament — replacing conventional fossil-fuel plastics across a wide range of applications.
